Fair of European Innovators in Cultural Heritage

15 - 16 November 2018 — Brussels, Belgium

Challenge

How to live and breathe innovation during a two-day conference hosting some of Europe’s greatest innovators in cultural heritage?

Cecoforma was tasked by the European Commission DG Research and Innovation during the 2018 Year of Cultural Heritage to co-design the first ever fair of its sort to inspire and engage participants while showcasing the latest in the field of innovation.

The fair welcomed over 300 participants, exhibited 37 innovation-booths of EU-funded projects in cultural heritage, offered live streaming, entertainment, audience-determined contests, plenary plus breakout sessions and networking.

The Community of Innovators in Cultural Heritage was launched and will continue in the years to come in the following working groups 'Circular, sustainable and creative cities, 'Heritage at risk', 'Shared management of cultural heritage', 'Advanced future technologies for heritage and arts'. Also launched was the Task Force on 'Circular Business & Financial Models for Adaptive Re-Use of Cultural Heritage in Cities' and the Horizon 2020 International Network supporting cultural heritage innovation and diplomacy.

With live demos and interactive debates participants’ hunger for discovery and desire to exchange was satisfied and the resulting platforms will keep the spirit alive.

Cecoforma ensured the event organisation and execution reflected the ‘fil rouge’ of innovation by implementing the latest technologies, highlighting creativity and inviting collaboration.

Together with a team of graphic designers we developed the visual identity for the Fair and created the event website with a registration and document-sharing space. We designed the expo space and guaranteed the streaming and photography captured all the right moments.
