Every year we use our experience and creativity to make sure MEDIA stand participants get the absolute most out of Europe’s premiere audiovisual markets

Creative Europe MEDIA at audiovisual markets

2009-2018 — Cannes, Berlin, Annecy, Lille

Challenge

How to host hundreds of film and television industry professionals at the biggest audiovisual markets across Europe year after year while continuing to innovate?

The EU's Creative Europe MEDIA programme has supported the European film and audiovisual industries since 1991, funding the development, distribution and promotion of European works. The programme facilitates access of independent audiovisual professionals to Europe’s most important film and television markets via umbrella stands offering reduced market participation rates. The stands serve as a platform from which independents can promote their activities and a meeting point for the Creative Europe Desks from across Europe to share information about EU support to the industry.

Cecoforma has managed the MEDIA stands since 2009, accompanying the programme through the sweeping transformations to the audiovisual sector brought on by the rise of digital technology. We are veteran stand organisers at the Marché du Film, MIPCOM and MIPTV in Cannes, and the European Film Market in Berlin. This year we are excited to add two new markets to our dossier: the world’s biggest animation market, MIFA at Annecy and the Forum at Series Mania, an international festival focused entirely on series in Lille. We have also created a fresh new look for all of the stands which now share a signature style across the markets.

Cecoforma has been a long term partner of Creative Europe MEDIA.

They have brought a fresh and creative eye to the new design of our stands in 2018.

Creative Europe MEDIA

We reach out to thousands of audiovisual professionals across Europe to assure the participation of a diverse pool of 75-300 eligible independents at each market. Our participant managers have been working in the sector for two decades and know it inside out. They support MEDIA in the selection process and keep in touch with participants to help them prepare. Participants register via a dedicated website, which contains practical information and highlights MEDIA supported works.

Our work at the Marché du Film is a great example of working “behind the scenes.”

I always smile at the glamorous image that the Cannes Film Festival has in the media. For us, Cannes is an adrenaline rush, dozens of hours of work poured out in record time – sometimes under the sun, but not always.

Cecoforma

In collaboration with our stand partners, we create inviting spaces for professionals to hold meetings, regroup, network, meet MEDIA representatives and attend events. Our communication experts and graphic designers design, produce and place promotional materials. The stands are staffed with seasoned locally based hostesses who provide a first-rate level of service. Never resting on our laurels, we innovate each year by adapting the stands and their services in response to client and participant feedback.
